Students are introduced to the core concepts of computational thinking, programming, and computer systems through unplugged activities and learning with the BBC micro:bit. No prior learning is assumed and this is an ideal introduction for students to ensure they have a shared understanding of these important elements of computing.

The Micro:bit Educational Foundation is a UK-based not for profit organization. We were established with the support of our founding members (including the BBC) in September 2016 to secure a legacy for the original BBC Make It Digital project in which a million micro:bits were given to UK school children.
We became fully operational on 18th October 2016, and our mission guides us to support exceptional educational programs across the globe.
